It’s estimated that 122 direct jobs and 76 indirect jobs will be created from this project.

Methodology used to estimate jobs:

Using the guidelines referred to in the application at whitehouse.gov, we calculated the total job-years based upon the total expenditures and the formulas and ratios provided.

• Total grant expenditure $22,780,465
• Matching cash funds $ 5,729,000
• Total expenditure $28,509,465

Using the formula provided (the spending of every $92,000 creates one job-year)

We divided by $92,000 to get total job-years created = 310 job-years

64 percent of the total is Direct and Indirect job creation = 198 job-years

36 percent of the total is the Induced job creation effect = 112 job-years

Of the 198 direct/indirect job-years created, the direct jobs are those created by spending on direct labor and services; indirect would be that created through spending on equipment.

The result:

• Direct job creation from spending on labor of $11,000,000 = 76 job-years
• Indirect job creation from spending on equipment of $17,000,000 = 122 job-years
